Railway Minister Acts Swiftly After BSF Personnel Provided Old Train for Kashmir Duty; 4 Officials Suspended

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has taken firm action following the deployment of an outdated and unsuitable train for BSF personnel travelling from Tripura to Kashmir for official duty. Taking serious note of the incident, the minister ordered the immediate suspension of four officials from the Alipurduar Division.

Suspended Officials Include:

  • The Coaching Depot Officer, Alipurduar

  • Three Senior Section Engineers of the Alipurduar Division

The Railway Minister emphasized that the dignity, comfort, and respect of India’s security forces are non-negotiable, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.

Special Train Arranged for BSF Jawans:
In a prompt corrective step, a dedicated special train has now been arranged from Agartala exclusively for BSF personnel. The new arrangement is designed to prioritize their convenience and uphold their honour.

Additionally, the Ministry of Railways has ordered a full inquiry into the matter to identify systemic shortcomings and prevent such lapses in the future.
