Anil Kumar Khandelwal, Member Infrastructure of the Railway Board, undertook a comprehensive inspection of the Srinagar-Sangaldan-Katra section of the crucial Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. His visit on 05.05.2024 aimed to assess the ongoing developments and address critical aspects of the project’s advancement.
Accompanied by senior officers from Northern Railway (NR) and Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), Khandelwal embarked on an extensive inspection journey, commencing from Srinagar and traversing through Sangaldan to Katra. Utilizing a combination of train rides and motor trolley inspections, he meticulously evaluated the progress along the challenging terrain.
During his inspection, Khandelwal focused on key areas such as the Sawalakote yard and Tunnel T-33 near Katra, pivotal for the project’s completion. Expressing contentment with the pace of work, he emphasized the importance of closely monitoring the critical tasks, particularly those related to Tunnel T-33, to ensure timely project commissioning.
