Prompt Action by Railways: Drunken Passengers Apprehended for Misbehavior on Jaipur-Shri Ganganagar Train

President of AAP Rajasthan State Women Wing Raises Safety Concerns, Railways Takes Swift Measures

Concerns over passenger safety were raised by Gayatri Bishnoi, President of the AAP Rajasthan state women wing, in a recent tweet directed at @IRCTCofficial. Bishnoi highlighted an alarming incident on a train journey from Jaipur to Shri Ganganagar, where she and fellow passengers faced harassment from intoxicated individuals openly consuming substances and using offensive language.

In her tweet, Bishnoi expressed her shock at the lack of visible Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on the entire train during the incident, emphasizing the need for immediate attention to such security lapses. Her attempt to file a complaint was met with a delayed police response, leaving her in a vulnerable position for an hour.

The official response from the Railways, sourced from social media, acknowledged the complaint made by Gayatri Bishnoi and outlined the actions taken to address the situation:

    • The Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials from Divisional Security Control Jodhpur were directed to attend the train and take appropriate action.
  • Action Taken:
    • In response to the complaint and under the guidance of the War Room, RPF officials at Degana Junction apprehended three individuals, booked them, and prosecuted them under the provisions of the Railways Act.
    • The apprehended persons were found traveling in coach no. HA1/25,26,27 of train no. 22997.
  • Feedback:
    • Gayatri Bishnoi conveyed her satisfaction and appreciation for the prompt action taken by Indian Railways and the RPF. She was encouraged to submit feedback on the Rail Madad portal.

While the Railway authorities claim that the situation has been addressed, incidents like these underscore the ongoing need for increased security measures to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during their journeys.
