Prime Minister Modi Holds Review Meeting on Kuwait Fire Tragedy
In the wake of the devastating fire tragedy in Kuwait that claimed the lives of several Indian nationals and left many injured, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a comprehensive review meeting earlier today at his residence in 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi.
Expressing profound sorrow over the unfortunate incident, Prime Minister Modi extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed his earnest wishes for the swift recovery of the injured individuals.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi directed the Government of India to provide all possible assistance to the affected individuals and their families. He specifically instructed the Minister of State for External Affairs to promptly travel to Kuwait to oversee relief efforts and ensure the expedited repatriation of the deceased.
In a significant move, Prime Minister Modi announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister Relief Fund to support the families of the deceased Indian nationals in their time of grief.
The high-level meeting was attended by prominent dignitaries including the Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar, Minister of State for External Affairs Shri Kirtivardhan Singh, Principal Secretary to PM Pramod Kumar Mishra, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, and other senior officials.
