Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya JanAushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) Initiative Expands to Pimpri, Pune by Central Railways
The Central Railways (CR) is set to inaugurate the first JanAushadhi Kendra at Pimpri, Pune, marking a significant step towards enhancing accessibility to quality medicines and consumables. The CR has ambitious plans to extend this initiative by establishing more “Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya JanAushadhi Kendra (PMBJK)” outlets at key locations such as Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Manmad, and Solapur.
The primary objective of the PMBJK initiative is to ensure the availability of high-quality medicines and JanAushadhi products to all passengers and visitors at affordable prices. Additionally, the initiative aims to generate employment opportunities and create avenues for entrepreneurs interested in opening PMBJK outlets.
The convenience of the PMBJK extends not only to railway passengers but also to road commuters, making essential medications easily accessible to a broader audience.
To facilitate the PMBJK outlets, the Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Bureau of India (PMBI) will play a crucial role. PMBI will supply affordable, high-quality generic medicines, surgical items, consumables, and more. The sales and billing process at PMBJK outlets will be streamlined through the use of PMBI software, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for both providers and consumers.
