PM Narendra Modi to Inaugurate and Lay Foundation Stones for Projects Valued at Rs 4,400 Crores
Approximately 19,000 beneficiaries to Receive Houses under PMAY
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on May 12th. At 10:30 AM, he will participate in the 29th Biennial Conference of All India Primary Teachers’ Federation, known as Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan, in Gandhinagar. Subsequently, at 12 noon, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various projects worth approximately Rs 4,400 crores, also in Gandhinagar. Later in the day, at around 3 PM, the Prime Minister will visit GIFT City to review the progress of ongoing projects.
Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying for Development Projects
During the ceremony in Gandhinagar, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects totaling over Rs 2,450 crores. These projects span across the Urban Development, Water Supply, Road and Transport, and Mines and Minerals Departments.
The inaugurated projects include the augmentation of multi-village drinking water supply schemes in Banaskantha district, a river overbridge in Ahmedabad, a drainage collection network at Naroda GIDC, sewage treatment plants in Mehsana and Ahmedabad, and an auditorium in Dahegam, among others. The projects for which foundation stones will be laid include the bulk pipeline project in Junagadh district, augmentation of water supply schemes in Gandhinagar district, construction of flyover bridges, establishment of a new water distribution station, and development of various town planning roads.
Furthermore, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for PMAY (rural and urban) projects, and participate in the housewarming ceremony for approximately 19,000 houses built under the scheme. He will personally hand over keys to the beneficiaries during the event. The total estimated cost of these projects is around Rs 1,950 crores.
PM’s Visit to GIFT City
The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes a visit to Gandhinagar’s ‘Gujarat International Finance Tec-City’ (GIFT City). During this visit, he will assess the status of ongoing projects in GIFT City and engage in discussions with GIFT IFSC entities to gain insights into their experiences and future plans for the city. Additionally, PM Modi will tour key infrastructure facilities in the city, including the ‘Underground Utility Tunnel’ and ‘Automated Waste Collection Segregation Plant.’
Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan
As part of the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will actively participate in the 29th Biennial Conference of All India Primary Teachers’ Federation, known as Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan. The conference’s theme centers around the crucial role of teachers in transforming education.
