Northern Railway Workshops Gears Up to Fight against COVID- 2019

In its continuous effort to fight against COVID – 19, all Northern railway Workshops have been geared up and in this regard important initiative taken by workshops are:

1. Sanitizers:

All Northern Railway Workshops are geared up to manufacture sanitizer @700 liters sanitizer per day. On date stock available in workshops is for 740 liters.

2. Face Masks:

Both Northern Railway Coaching Workshops are geared up to manufacture face masks @ 700 per day. 1600 nos. face masks have been manufactured in Northern Railway. On date stock available in workshops is for 650 .

3. COVERALL / APRON:

Prototype of Coverall/ Aprons for medical staff manufactured in both Northern Railway Coaching workshops.

Sufficient raw material received at Jagadhari yesterday. 12 Coverall at Jagadhari & 2 at Alambagh have been manufactured. For next three days, Workshops will manufacture 20 Coverall / Apron per day over Northern Railway. This will be further enhanced to 30-35 per day from 3 April.

Sealing tape source has been identified by Jagadhari and will be provided on all COVERALL after 01 April.

4. Conversion of NON AC coach to Isolation Coach:

LHB COACHES

• 16 LHB coach already converted over Northern Railway.
• 2 Rakes i.e. 20 LHB converted ISOLATION Non AC Coaches will be ready by 31 March evening.

ICF Coaches
• 2 ICF coaches available at Alambagh will be converted as ISOLATION coach by tomorrow.
• One rake of 10 coaches will be converted into isolation facility within one week time .Further, Northern Railway is in touch with respective State Government for better co-ordination in our fight against corona virus.
