New Train Services Enhance Connectivity for Devotees and Travelers in Himachal Pradesh: Anurag Thakur
In a significant development, devotees and travelers from Himachal Pradesh now have improved connectivity to Prayagraj, thanks to the extension of train services. Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur, announced today that the Railways has approved the extension of the Indore-Chandigarh Express to Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ji for this approval, Anurag Thakur highlighted the importance of better connectivity for the state. The extension of the Indore-Chandigarh Express is expected to facilitate smoother journeys for devotees visiting the city of confluence, Prayag, directly from Himachal Pradesh.
Anurag Thakur, representing the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency and Himachal Pradesh at the Centre, emphasized his commitment to the state’s development and improved connectivity. He noted that the extended train service will offer significant convenience to passengers and cater to the growing demand for better transportation options.
Under the new arrangement, the Indore-Chandigarh Express will now operate between Indore and Una, departing from Indore at 5:30 AM and arriving in Una at 8:35 AM the next morning. Similarly, it will depart from Una at 1:50 PM and reach Indore at 3:05 PM the following afternoon.
Furthermore, Anurag Thakur highlighted several other railway infrastructure developments in Himachal Pradesh, including the construction of a bridge over the Chakki River and the restoration of rail services between Pathankot and Jogindernagar. He also underscored the Modi government’s commitment to the state’s railway expansion, with significant investments allocated for various projects.
The Una-Hamirpur railway line, in particular, is poised to enhance religious and tourism activities in the state, contributing to its revenue and benefiting local communities. With the government’s combined efforts, this railway line aims to strengthen connectivity and support economic growth in Himachal Pradesh.
