NCRTC Enhances Last-Mile Connectivity for Namo Bharat Train Commuters in NCR

The newly-launched high-speed Namo Bharat trains, with a design speed of 180 kmph, are transforming transportation in the National Capital Region (NCR). In a significant move, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is introducing multiple last-mile connectivity options at the RRTS stations within the Priority Section to facilitate the convenience of passengers.

Collaborating with Ghaziabad City Transport Services Limited, NCRTC has integrated the routes of 50 air-conditioned electric city buses operating in Ghaziabad with the major stations of the Priority Section. These buses now make stops at RRTS stations along their routes, providing seamless and safe travel options for commuters in Ghaziabad.

The buses stop at designated bus drop-off lanes near the entry-exit gates of major stations in the Priority Section, including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, and Duhai RRTS stations. Passengers of Namo Bharat trains can board these buses to continue their journeys. The buses operate on various routes, connecting places like Dilshad Garden, Kaushambi, Ashram, Dadri, and Modinagar, enhancing connectivity.

Additionally, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) offers air-conditioned electric bus services between Anand Vihar bus stand and Sahibabad RRTS station. These AC electric buses operate from early morning until late evening, ensuring frequent services for passengers.

NCRTC is working on integrating GPS systems in the buses to provide real-time information to commuters about the operation of these services. Moreover, electric auto-rickshaws are available at all four major stations in the Priority Section, offering eco-friendly and efficient last-mile transportation solutions.

These initiatives aim to provide seamless end-to-end travel facilities to passengers on the Priority Section. By integrating various last-mile connectivity options, NCRTC has connected remote areas of Delhi to Ghaziabad with an integrated transport system, benefiting both urban centers and rural areas.

The improved last-mile connectivity options align with NCRTC’s commitment to offer convenient transportation for Namo Bharat train passengers and address environmental concerns.
