Ministry of Education Cancels UGC-NET June 2024 Exam Amid Integrity Concerns; Fresh Exam Scheduled
The UGC-NET June 2024 Examination, which was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in OMR (pen and paper) mode on 18th June, 2024 across various cities in India, has been cancelled due to suspected integrity breaches.
On 19th June, 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) received alarming inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. These inputs suggest potential compromises in the integrity of the conducted examination.
In response to ensure absolute transparency and uphold the sanctity of the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India has taken the decision to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. A fresh examination will be scheduled soon, with details to be communicated separately. Concurrently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) has been tasked with a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
NEET(UG) 2024 Examination Update
Regarding the NEET(UG) 2024 Examination, the issue concerning grace marks has been fully addressed. Regarding allegations of irregularities during the examination in Patna, the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police has been requested to furnish a detailed report. The government will initiate further actions upon receipt of this report.
The government remains steadfast in its commitment to maintain the integrity of examinations and safeguard the interests of students. It is reiterated that strict actions will be taken against any individual or organization found involved in any wrongdoing related to these examinations.
