Unusual Incident at Warangal Station of Secunderabad Division Results in Passengers Swept into Tracks
Malfunctioning Water Tank at Warangal Station Leads to Passenger Incident
Warangal Station of Secunderabad Division witnessed an unexpected incident when an overhead water tank with a capacity of 64,000 liters malfunctioned, causing water to pour onto the Control Operating Panel (COP). As a result, the GI sheet covering the panel collapsed, leading to water cascading onto the platform.
Tragically, four passengers were swept into the tracks due to the force of the water. Immediate action was taken, and all four individuals were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Fortunately, two of the passengers only required first aid treatment before being discharged and allowed to return home. As a gesture of compensation, they will each receive a sum of Rs. 25,000.
The other two passengers, both senior citizens, sustained injuries and are currently receiving necessary medical treatment. The Indian Railways will cover all medical expenses incurred. Additionally, a compensation amount of Rs. 1 lakh is being provided to them to assist with their recovery.
The incident at Warangal Station serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining infrastructure to ensure passenger safety. The railway authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
