Major Train Accident Disrupts Services on Howrah-Chennai Main Line
Vizianagaram-Kottavalasa Railway Section, Waltair Division, ECoR : A significant train accident occurred between Alamanda and Kantakapalle in the Vizianagaram-Kottavalasa Railway Section of Waltair Division, East Coast Railway, on the Howrah-Chennai Main Line at approximately 1900 hours, leading to the cancellation and diversion of several trains.
Cancellation of Trains:
A. 08531 Palasa-Visakhapatnam Special scheduled to depart from Palasa on October 30, 2023.
B. 18518 Visakhapatnam-Korba Express that was set to leave Visakhapatnam on October 29, 2023.
C. 08531 Palasa-Visakhapatnam Special originally departing from Palasa on October 29, 2023.
D. 22810 Visakhapatnam-Paradeep Express intended to leave Visakhapatnam on October 29, 2023.
E. 22809 Paradeep-Visakhapatnam Express originally scheduled to depart from Paradeep on October 30, 2023.
F. 18517 Korba-Visakhapatnam Express scheduled to depart from Korba on October 30, 2023.
G. 08503 Rayagada-Visakhapatnam Passenger expected to leave Rayagada on October 30, 2023.
H. 07469 Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam Special originally departing from Vizianagaram on October 30, 2023.
I. 08522 Visakhapatnam-Gunupur Special scheduled to depart from Visakhapatnam on October 30, 2023.
J. 08521 Gunupur-Visakhapatnam Special set to depart from Gunupur on October 30, 2023.
Partial Cancellation of Trains:
A. 22859 Puri-Chennai Express originating from Puri on October 29, 2023, will only operate up to Palasa and will return as a Passenger Special to Puri.
B. 22884 Yesvantpur-Puri Express departing from Yesvantpur on October 28, 2023, will run up to Visakhapatnam and remain canceled from Visakhapatnam to Puri.
C. 22880 Tirupati-Bhubaneswar Express departing from Tirupati on October 29, 2023, will operate up to Visakhapatnam and remain canceled from Visakhapatnam to Bhubaneswar.
Diversion of Trains:
A. 13351 Dhanbad-Alleppey Express departing from Dhanbad on October 29, 2023, will be rerouted via Jharsuguda-Raipur-Nagpur-Vijayawada.
B. 12835 Hatia-Bangalore Express departing from Hatia on October 29, 2023, will be rerouted via Jharsuguda-Raipur-Nagpur-Vijayawada.
C. 22808 Chennai-Santragachhi Express departing from Chennai on October 29, 2023, will be rerouted via Thadi-Vijayawada-Nagpur-Raipur-Jharsuguda-Kharagpur.
D. 18046 Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express departing from Hyderabad on October 29, 2023, will be rerouted via Anakapalle-Vijayawada-Nagpur-Raipur-Jharsuguda-Kharagpur.
E. 22641 Trivandrum-Shalimar Express departing from Trivandrum on October 28, 2023, will be rerouted via Narsipatnam-Vijayawada-Nagpur-Raipur-Jharsuguda-Kharagpur.
