Major Infrastructure Boost in Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Rail Line Project
Ahmednagar: In a significant development, the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath new rail line project is making substantial progress, with an investment of ₹4805.17 Crores. The joint funding initiative from the Central Railway and the State Government, with a 50:50 ratio, underscores the commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.
Financial Update: With an expenditure of ₹3759.40 Crores to date, the project has reached an impressive overall physical progress of 80%. The extensive 261.25 km length of the new rail line has seen notable achievements, particularly in land acquisition, where 99.15% of the targeted 1821.65 hectares have been secured.
Section-wise Progress:
A) Completed Section: The stretch from Ahmednagar to Ashti covering 66.18 km is fully operational, marking a significant milestone in the project.
B) Near Completion Section: The Ashti to Eganwadi section, covering 67.12 km, is poised to be completed by the end of the current financial year.
C) In Progress Section: The remaining segment from Eganwadi to Parli is actively under construction.
Ongoing Works:
The project is witnessing commendable progress in various aspects:
- Earthwork completion stands at an impressive 97% (419.88/430.43 Lcum).
- Important bridges/Major Bridge construction is at 91% completion (58/64).
- Minor Bridges development has reached 84% (301/252).
- Ballast supply is at 88% (6.603/7.52 Lcum).
- Progress in ROB/RUB construction is at 66% (128/195).
- Station Building development is at 30% (6/21).
- Signaling and telecom works are ongoing at 10 stations.
- Track Linking progress is at 43% (124.32/285.89 track km).
- Power line crossing completion stands at 91% (568/626).
- Electrification is in progress for the entire 261.25 km stretch.

Central Railway’s Overall Progress:
Across its five divisions, Central Railway has demonstrated a robust commitment to infrastructural development:
- Completion of 161.80 km of multitracking (new line/doubling/3rd/4th line) has been achieved from April 2023 to the present.
- A planned investment of ₹3890 Crores for new lines/doubling/3rd/4th line projects is in progress, with ₹2990 Crores already expended.
