Established on February 8, 1862, Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop holds a venerable position as the first fully-fledged railway workshop in India, boasting a rich history of over a century of service. Initially, Jamalpur Workshop primarily focused on locomotive repair and the assembly of locomotives using salvaged components from other locomotives.
