Indian Railways Extends Vista Dome Train Service as Snowfall Grips Kashmir Valley
As the winter chill and snowfall take over the picturesque valleys of Jammu & Kashmir, Indian Railways has announced a New Year gift for travelers by extending the periodicity of the popular Vista Dome train service between Budgam and Banihal.
The extended service will run from January 1, 2025, to January 31, 2025, offering passengers more opportunities to experience the scenic beauty of the region in comfort. The decision comes as the Valley experiences heavy snowfall, making the train ride even more captivating for travelers.
Details of the Extended Train Service:
- Train Numbers: 04688 (Budgam – Banihal) and 04687 (Banihal – Budgam)
- Frequency: Daily (Except Fridays)
- Earlier notified period: October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024
- Extended period: January 1, 2025, to January 31, 2025, with 26 trips scheduled for each direction.
The Vista Dome trains, known for their panoramic glass windows, offer passengers stunning views of the snow-covered landscapes, making the journey through the Valley even more mesmerizing. The extension of these services is expected to enhance the travel experience during the peak winter season.
