Indian Railways Announces Train Modifications Due to Infrastructure Upgrades in Firozpur Division

These blocks will facilitate the installation of through roof pipe trusses, cross bracings, and purlins, which are essential components of the station’s ongoing development. As a result, several train services will be affected from October 18 to October 24, 2024, leading to cancellations, short-terminations, diversions, and schedule adjustments.

Cancellation of Train Services

During this period, the following train services will be completely canceled:

  1. Train No. 14505: Amritsar to Nangal Dam
  2. Train No. 14506: Nangal Dam to Amritsar
  3. Train No. 04503: Ambala Cantt. to Ludhiana
  4. Train No. 04582: Ludhiana to Ambala Cantt.
  5. Train No. 04591: Ludhiana to Chheharta
  6. Train No. 04592: Chheharta to Ludhiana
  7. Train No. 06972: Jalandhar City to Nakodar
  8. Train No. 06971: Nakodar to Jalandhar City
  9. Train No. 06974: Jalandhar City to Nakodar
  10. Train No. 06973: Nakodar to Jalandhar City
  11. Train No. 04630: Lohian Khas to Ludhiana
  12. Train No. 06983: Ludhiana to Lohian Khas
  13. Train No. 06984: Lohian Khas to Phillaur
  14. Train No. 06985: Phillaur to Lohian Khas
  15. Train No. 04170: Firozpur Cantt. to Jalandhar City
  16. Train No. 04169: Jalandhar City to Firozpur Cantt.

Passengers are advised to check alternative travel arrangements during this period.

Short-Termination of Train Services

Some trains will be short-terminated, meaning they will only operate to a certain station rather than their usual destination. The affected services include:

  1. Train No. 12029/12031: New Delhi to Amritsar, terminating at Ludhiana.
  2. Train No. 12497: New Delhi to Amritsar, also terminating at Ludhiana.
  3. Train No. 15531: Saharsa to Amritsar, terminating at Chandigarh.
  4. Train No. 22445: Kanpur Central to Amritsar, terminating at Ambala Cantt.
  5. Train No. 22551: Darbhanga to Jalandhar City, terminating at Ambala Cantt.

This modification is intended to manage the operational load while construction activities are underway.

Short Origination of Train Services

In addition, several trains will short originate from different locations:

  1. Train No. 12030/12032: Amritsar to New Delhi, originating from Ludhiana.
  2. Train No. 12498: Amritsar to New Delhi, originating from Ludhiana.
  3. Train No. 15532: Amritsar to Saharsa, originating from Chandigarh.
  4. Train No. 22446: Amritsar to Kanpur Central, originating from Ambala Cantt.
  5. Train No. 22552: Jalandhar City to Darbhanga, originating from Ambala Cantt.

These adjustments aim to optimize service during the infrastructure upgrade.

Diversion of Train Services

Several trains will also be diverted to alternate routes:

  1. Train No. 22479: New Delhi to Lohian Khas, with the diverted route via Nakodar instead of the usual Jalandhar City.
  2. Train No. 15707: Katihar to Amritsar, also rerouted through Nakodar.
  3. Train No. 12919: Dr. Ambedkar Nagar to Svdk Katra will take a longer route that includes additional stops.
  4. Train No. 12471: Bandra Terminus to Svdk Katra, diverted similarly.
  5. Train No. 12477: Jamnagar to Svdk Katra, and Train No. 12475: Hapa to Svdk Katra, both with changes to their routes.
  6. Other notable diversions include Train No. 22318: Jammu Tawi to Sealdah and Train No. 09321: Dr. Ambedkar Nagar to Svdk Katra, also facing route changes.

These diversions are essential to maintain service while ensuring safety during construction.

Rescheduling and Regulation of Train Services

Additionally, the following trains will experience schedule adjustments:

  1. Train No. 22429: Delhi Junction to Pathankot will be delayed by 30 minutes.
  2. Train No. 14617: Purnia Court to Amritsar, also delayed by 30 minutes.
  3. Train No. 12317: Kolkata Terminal to Amritsar and Train No. 12357: Kolkata Terminal to Amritsar will face similar delays.
  4. Other trains like Train No. 11057: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Amritsar and Train No. 19611: Ajmer to Amritsar will also be regulated.

Some trains will see extended delays of up to 60 minutes, notably Train No. 04651: Jaynagar to Amritsar.
