Indian Railways Announces Diversion of Agartala – Anand Vihar Tejas Rajdhani Express via New Route

New Delhi, September 15, 2023 – The Indian Railways has issued an official notification to inform the general public about a significant change in the route of the popular Agartala – Anand Vihar Tejas Rajdhani Express (Weekly) train service, bearing train numbers 20501/20502. This diversion will bring about a modification in the train’s regular path, leading it via Malda Town, Bhagalpur, Jamalpur, and Patna Junction.

Effective from January 15, 2024, for Train Number 20501 (Agartala – Anand Vihar Tejas Rajdhani Express) and from January 17, 2024, for Train Number 20502 (Anand Vihar – Agartala Tejas Rajdhani Express), the altered route will provide travelers with a unique journey experience. Here are the details of the new route:

For Train Number 20501 (Agartala – Anand Vihar Tejas Rajdhani Express):

  • Departure from Agartala (AGTL) at 15:10 on Monday.
  • Stops at Ambassa (ABSA) at 16:24-16:26, Dharmanagar (DMR) at 17:55-17:57, New Karimganj (NKMG) at 19:10-19:12, and Badarpur (BPB) at 19:50-20:00 on Monday.
  • Continues the journey to Hojai (HJI) at 01:28-01:30 and Guwahati (GHY) at 03:50-04:05 on Tuesday.
  • Further halts at Rangiya (RNY) at 05:03-05:05, Barpeta Road (BPRD) at 06:00-06:02, and New Jalpaiguri (NJP) at 10:30-10:40 on Tuesday.
  • Makes a significant stop at Malda Town (MLDT) at 15:00-15:10 on Tuesday.
  • Continues through Bhagalpur (BGP) at 18:25-18:30, Jamalpur (JMP) at 19:25-19:27, and finally arrives at Patna Junction (PNBE) at 22:10-22:20 on Tuesday.
  • Proceeds to Pt. DD Upadhyaya Junction (DDU) at 01:25-01:35 and Kanpur Central (CNB) at 05:30-05:35 on Wednesday.
  • The journey concludes with arrival at Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT) at 10:50 on Wednesday.

For Train Number 20502 (Anand Vihar – Agartala Tejas Rajdhani Express):

  • Departure from Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT) at 19:50 on Wednesday.
  • Follows the route via Pt. DD Upadhyaya Junction (DDU) at 04:42-04:52 and Kanpur Central (CNB) at 00:35-00:40 on Thursday.
  • Halts at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) at 20:05-20:15 on Thursday.
  • Reaches Malda Town (MLDT) at 16:25-16:35 on Thursday.
  • Continues through Bhagalpur (BGP) at 12:35-12:40, Jamalpur (JMP) at 11:35-11:37, and Patna Junction (PNBE) at 07:55-08:05 on Friday.
  • Proceeds to Hojai (HJI) at 05:35-05:37 and Guwahati (GHY) at 03:20-03:35 on Friday.
  • Further halts at Rangiya (RNY) at 02:00-02:02 and Barpeta Road (BPRD) at 01:00-01:02 on Friday.
  • Makes stops at New Karimganj (NKMG) at 11:55-11:57 and Badarpur (BPB) at 11:25-11:35 on Friday.
  • Concludes the journey with arrival at Agartala (AGTL) at 15:40 on Friday.
