Indian Air Force’s Western Air Command Conducts Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi
The Western Air Command (WAC) of the Indian Air Force concluded its two-day Commanders’ Conference on December 11 and 12, 2023, at New Delhi. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), graced the event as the chief guest. Upon his arrival, Air Marshal PM Sinha, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of WAC, welcomed him and presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
The conference provided a platform for the CAS to engage with commanders from the Area of Responsibility (AoR) of WAC. Discussions revolved around the impact of emerging technologies, the imperative for capability enhancement, and optimizing human resources’ potential. In his address, the CAS commended WAC for maintaining a credible operational posture, swiftly responding to required situations, and contributing significantly to global humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts.
Highlighting the importance of adopting a disruptive training approach and fostering a disciplined culture, the CAS urged commanders to stay abreast of global technological advancements, especially in space, cyber, and electronic warfare domains. He directed efforts to ensure operations in an environment of denial, aligning with the IAF’s objective to transform into a highly agile and adaptable air force capable of providing decisive aerospace power in alignment with national interests.
The conference also featured insights from distinguished speakers who shared their perspectives on the multi-domain operations envisioned by the Indian Air Force in future warfare scenarios.
