Indian Air Force Celebrates 91st Anniversary at Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur

Nagpur, Maharashtra: The Indian Air Force (IAF) marked its 91st anniversary with a series of celebratory events at Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur. Air Marshal Vibhas Pande, Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-in-C), Maintenance Command, presided over the commemorative activities.

To honor the valiant predecessors of the IAF, Air Marshal Vibhas Pande laid a wreath at the ‘Shaurya Samarak.’ He also administered the oath to all Maintenance Command personnel, emphasizing the values of honesty, integrity, and devotion in serving the nation. Heartfelt messages from the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Defence Minister, and Chief of the Air Staff were conveyed during the event.

During the anniversary celebration, outstanding personnel who received commendations from the Chief of Air Staff and AOC-in-C were felicitated for their exemplary service.

Several activities were organized to mark the occasion, including a blood donation camp on September 29, 2023, where 43 volunteers donated blood. A high tea event was held on October 3-4, 2023, to honor the air warriors, Non-Combatants (Enrolled), Defence Security Corps personnel, Military Engineer Services personnel, civilians, and other civilian agencies.

Additionally, the Ni-Kshay Mitra program, sponsored by HQ Maintenance Command, successfully supported 100 TB patients from Nagpur over the past six months. The celebrations culminated with a Health Run for air warriors and their families on October 7, 2023, followed by a special Bara khana organized for the air warriors of HQ Maintenance Command on the same day.
