In an exhilarating finale at the packed Kalinga Stadium, Team India secured the championship title in the Hero Intercontinental Cup 2023. With a resounding 2-0 victory over Lebanon, the blue tigers displayed their prowess on the field, delighting the roaring crowd. The trophy was presented to the champions by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik amidst a jubilant atmosphere.
Leading by example, skipper Sunil Chhetri and Lallianzuala Chhangte contributed crucial goals that propelled India to victory. The achievement was celebrated with great enthusiasm as the Chief Minister announced a reward of Rs 1 Crore for the triumphant Team India.

The historic night was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Sports & Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Secretary of 5T V Karthikey Pandian, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Sports Vineel Krishna, President of AIFF Kalyan Chaubey, Secretary General of AIFF Shaji Prabhakaran, and Secretary of the Football Association of Odisha Ashirbad Behera.
