Light to moderate rainfall activity very likely to continue over Northeast India during next 5 days with possibility of isolated heavy falls over Assam-Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh on 31st March & 01st April, 2022.

Weather observed during past 24 hours:
 Maximum Temperatures (as on 28/03/2022) were 40-41°C in many parts over West Rajasthan,
West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat state, Marathwada; in some parts over East
Rajasthan & Rayalaseema and in isolated pockets over Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya
Maharashtra and Telangana.

 The maximum temperatures were above normal by 4-70C at many places over Jammu
Division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh and in
some parts over East Rajasthan & West Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over Madhya
Pradesh, Gujarat state and Madhya Maharashtra.

 Heat Wave to Severe Heat Wave conditions were observed in many parts of West Rajasthan;
in some parts of East Rajasthan and Heat Wave conditions in many parts of Himachal
Pradesh; in some parts of Saurashtra-Kutch and in isolated pockets of Jammu Division,
Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh

Maximum Temperature and Heat Wave conditions Forecast:
 No significant change in maximum temperatures very likely over most parts of Northwest
India during next 24 hours and fall by about 20C thereafter over the plains of Northwest
India.
 Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by about 20C very likely over many parts of Central
& East India during next 3 days and no significant change thereafter.
 No significant change in maximum temperatures very likely over most parts of Gujarat
state during next 2 days and gradual rise by 2-30C thereafter.
 Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-40C very likely over Maharashtra during next
5 days.

Rainfall Forecast & Warnings:
 Light to moderate scattered rainfall very likely over Northeast India during next 48 hours.
Thereafter, under the influence of strong southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal to
northeastern states at lower tropospheric levels; fairly widespread to widespread
light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds (40-50 kmph) very likely
over the region during 31st March-02nd April. Isolated heavy rainfall over Assam-
Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh likely on 31st March & 01st April, 2022.

 Under the influence of trough/wind discontinuity over south Peninsular India,
