Golden Chariot Luxury Train Set to Roll Out in New Avatar in 2024

IRCTC, the professional travel and hospitality arm of Indian Railways, is all set to re-launch the Golden Chariot Luxury Tourist Train this year. The train, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka, will hit the tracks with enhanced features and an upgraded experience for travelers.

The Golden Chariot offers world-class onboard accommodation, with 13 double-bedded cabins, 26 twin-bedded cabins, and one cabin specifically designed for differently-abled guests. With a capacity to accommodate up to 80 guests, the train’s 40 cabins are equipped with luxurious amenities and facilities.

The refurbished cabins come with upholstered furniture, elegant drapery, well-maintained attached bathrooms, and high-quality crockery and cutlery from renowned international brands. Additionally, the cabins are fitted with Smart TVs offering a variety of Wi-Fi-enabled subscription services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar, ensuring that guests have ample infotainment options during their journey.

To ensure the safety and security of passengers, the Golden Chariot is equipped with CCTV cameras and a fire alarm system. For guests seeking relaxation, the train features a dedicated spa, Arogya, which offers a range of rejuvenating therapies. Fitness enthusiasts can also enjoy modern workout equipment at the spa’s gym.

The train offers two elegant dining options: Ruchi and Nalapak, both serving a selection of international and local delicacies. For those who wish to unwind, the Madira bar offers a curated collection of wines, beers, and spirits.

Scheduled Itineraries for 2024-25

The Golden Chariot offers two exciting itineraries for the 2024-25 season:

  1. Pride of Karnataka (5 Nights/6 Days) – Starting from Bengaluru, this itinerary covers Bandipur, Mysore, Halebidu, Chikmangalur, Hampi, Goa, and back to Bengaluru.
  2. Jewels of South (5 Nights/6 Days) – Also departing from Bengaluru, this journey covers Mysore, Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, Chettinad, Cochin, Chertala, and returns to Bengaluru.

  • 14th Dec 2024 – Pride of Karnataka (5N/6D)
  • 21st Dec 2024 – Jewels of South (5N/6D)
  • 4th Jan 2025 – Pride of Karnataka (5N/6D)
  • 1st Feb 2025 – Pride of Karnataka (5N/6D)
  • 15th Feb 2025 – Jewels of South (5N/6D)

Tariff

The tariff for the Golden Chariot includes all meals, house wines, guided excursions in air-conditioned buses, entry fees for monuments, and meals at external venues according to the itinerary.

  • Pride of Karnataka (5N/6D): INR 4,00,530 + 5% GST per person (on twin sharing basis).
  • Jewels of South (5N/6D): Tariff details available upon request.
