GM/CR Ram Karan Yadav Visits Matunga Carriage Workshop, Emphasizes Automation and Quality Control

Ram Karan Yadav, General Manager of Central Railway (GM/CR), conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Carriage Workshop at Matunga. During the visit, he focused on assessing the Periodical Overhauling activities of suburban and express coaches.

The inspection included a visit to the Heavy Corrosion Repair shop, where Yadav observed the treatment of different corrosion-prone areas of the coaches. Notably, he interacted with the all-women welder teams named “Ahilya” and “Durga,” gaining insights into their welding procedures.

Yadav extended his scrutiny to various sections within the workshop, including the Traction Motor shop, Trolley section, and Spring section. During these inspections, he emphasized the adoption of automation techniques to enhance the overall efficiency of the workshop.

The visit aimed at ensuring the quality control of overhauling activities, with a specific focus on corrosion repair and welding procedures. GM/CR Ram Karan Yadav’s emphasis on automation aligns with the continuous efforts to modernize railway workshops for improved productivity and service quality.
