In a proactive move towards ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and innovation, General Manager of Central Railway (GM/CR), Shri Ram Karan Yadav, conducted a thorough inspection of the Wadi Bunder Coaching Depot on December 14, 2023. The focus of the inspection included a detailed review of Vande Bharat maintenance initiatives and Electronics Lab innovations.
Key Highlights of the Inspection:
- CSMT–Solapur Vande Bharat Rake Examination: The inspection included a meticulous examination of the CSMT–Solapur Vande Bharat express rake, specifically focusing on the nose cone design. Demonstrations highlighted modifications made to the Main Reservoir auto drain cock for enhanced protection against cattle run-over incidents.
- Water Level Indicator App Monitoring: Discussions were held regarding the Water Level Indicator App, emphasizing its monitoring capabilities and effectiveness.
- Inauguration of New Conference Hall: A new conference hall was inaugurated as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and facilitate collaborative discussions.
- Electronics Lab Inspection: The Electronics Lab was thoroughly inspected, with a specific focus on Emergency Battery Chargers (EBC) and Regulated Battery Chargers (RBC).
- Roof Mounted A/C Package Unit (RMPU) Microprocessor Testing Jig: A cutting-edge testing jig for RMPU microprocessors was showcased. This technology allows for precise defect pinpointing by simulating all working conditions. The repair and reuse of microprocessors in this manner contribute to significant cost savings, approximately ₹1 lakh per unit.
- Head On Generation (HOG) Simulation Testing Jig: Another innovative testing jig for HOG was highlighted during the inspection. This technology simulates Loco side commands to the Power Car, aiding in pinpointing defects and enhancing overall reliability.
- Additional Securing Arrangements: Measures to prevent the accidental falling of ZS (IV) couplers en route were demonstrated. Additional securing arrangements, utilizing MS rope and hook arrangements, were showcased. These measures aim to save significant detention time and prevent equipment damage.
The comprehensive inspection and review of maintenance initiatives reflect the commitment of Central Railway to ensuring safety, reliability, and innovation in its operations.
