DRM, Delhi Division rewards 389 employees on 67th Railway Week Celebration

Delhi Division has become the 1st Division in Northern Railway to achieve 100% electrification during the financial year 2021-22

To commemorate the running of the first train in the country between Bori-bunder and Thane, Indian Railways celebrate the Railway Week every year. This year, Delhi Division, Northern Railway celebrated its 66th and 67th  Railway Week function on 22.06.2022 in which Dimpy Garg, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi presided over the Awards Distribution Ceremony held at State Entry Road, New Delhi.

The ceremony started with the felicitation of railway employees (Officers & Staff) for their meritorious services by Dimpy Garg, DRM/ Delhi. During GM level Railway Week Awards, Delhi Division bagged the GM’s Overall Performance in all fields Shield along with 12 other shields awarded by GM/N.R.

Speaking on the occasion, DRM Dimpy Garg lauded the officers and staff for all round achievements of the Division. He stated that this year has been especially  encouraging one for us. He said that all railway men, are well aware of their onerous responsibilities towards safety in train operations. Towards green energy initiative, Delhi Division has installed total 1.293 Mwp provision of rooftop Solar Plants System. This has resulted in saving of 14.15 Lacs kWh per annum amounting to Rs. 77.87 Lacs per annum.

Delhi Division has become the 1st Division in Northern Railway to achieve 100% electrification during the financial year 2021-22. Provision of 30-70% Light Control System has been done at Meerut City Railway station.

Apart from this 13 Nos. level crossings have been eliminated and 23 Nos. Road Under Bridges/Limited Height Subway/Road Over bridges have been Constructed during the last financial year. Sectional speed have been raised on total 534 Kms. i.e. from 50 Kmph to 75 Kmph on Garhi –Farukh Nagar Section, 110 Kmph to 130 Kmph on New Delhi -Ambala Section & Goods train to 75 Kmph  on Ambala–Panipat–Palwal Section and Palwal-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Ghaziabad Section respectively during the last financial year. Total 2.4  Lakhs Trees have been Planted.

“One Station One Product” Promotional Kiosk was launched at Panipat Railway Station of Delhi Division. Electric traction has been started on Shamli-Tapri Section of Delhi Division.

Northern Railway is providing Entertainment through Radio Service in Shatabdi and Vande Bharat Trains. Ministry of Railways has been chosen as one of the five pilot Ministries for the launch of Prime Minister’s “Mission Karmyogi” a prestigious project of Government of India for capacity building of the Government Officials with the objective to transform their professional outlook for a more citizen centric approach to work and frontline staff of Delhi Division participated in this Mission.

During November 2021 Delhi Division earned Rs. 8.01 crores through ticket checking which is its best ever performance. Goods Earning was Rs. 3104.40 Crores which is an increase of 26.2% as compared with same period of last year (Rs 2459.58 Crores) Delhi Division on 27/09/21 ran a unique Hybrid train called “SANCHAY MALA HYBRID EXPRESS” from Jind & Delhi Kishanganj to Salchhapra & Bhanga station of North Eastern State (Assam). Such a hybrid train has run after many decades. During the financial year, Non Fare Revenue from Commercial activities was Rs. 17.81 Crores as compared to Rs. 2.014 Crore during the financial year 2020-21. 

As a part of social responsibility, Railways have always extended its services to take care of differently abled children.  In one such initiative, NRWWO Delhi Division has been running a school for special children named Navchetna Special School since 1991, which started with one child and at present has 15 children.

Divisional Railway Manager congratulated all the awardees and lauded the contribution of their families in felicitating the employees in discharging their onerous duty 24×7.
