Dense Fog Grips Northern and Central India, Causing Delays in Train Services
In the early hours of today, 8th January 2024, extensive fog conditions have blanketed several regions across Northern and Central India, disrupting normalcy and resulting in delays for numerous trains arriving in the Delhi area.
Fog Conditions:
- Very dense fog has been reported in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar.
- Additionally, dense fog is prevalent in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, while shallow to moderate fog affects isolated areas in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
Visibility at 0530 hours IST (08.01.2024):
- Punjab: Patiala (25 meters), Amritsar (50 meters)
- Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly and Gorakhpur (25 meters each), Bahraich and Varanasi (50 meters each), Varanasi (Babatpur – 200 meters), Sultanpur, Lucknow, and Jhansi (500 meters each)
- Haryana-Chandigarh: Ambala (25 meters), Chandigarh (50 meters), Hissar (500 meters)
- Rajasthan: Churu (25 meters), Jaisalmer (200 meters), Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, and Ganganagar (500 meters each)
- Bihar: Gaya (25 meters)
- Madhya Pradesh: Jabalpur (50 meters), Sagar (200 meters), Gwalior, Indore, and Bhopal (500 meters each)
- Chhattisgarh: Ambikapur (200 meters)
- Jharkhand: Ranchi (500 meters)
- Odisha: Chandbali and Jharsiguda (500 meters each)
