Defence Minister Unveils Sequel to Landmark Military Strategy Book, Envisioning India’s Future-Ready Armed Forces

In a significant boost to India’s defence discourse, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh today released the eagerly anticipated sequel, Ready, Relevant and Resurgent II: Shaping a Future Ready Force, penned by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. The event underscores the nation’s commitment to evolving its military capabilities amid rapidly shifting global security paradigms.
The book serves as a forward-looking manifesto for transforming India’s Armed Forces into a nimble, adaptive powerhouse. Drawing on an incisive examination of warfare’s evolving dynamics, it traces the historical arc of conflict while zeroing in on cutting-edge domains like cyberspace, space-based operations, and cognitive warfare. General Chauhan’s work emphasizes their critical role in equipping Indian forces for tomorrow’s battles, blending strategic foresight with practical roadmaps.
Speaking at the release, Singh lauded the volume for its emphasis on fostering strong military leadership and institutional resilience. “This is more than a book—it’s a clarion call for a reimagined Indian military,” he remarked, highlighting its grounding in ancient strategic insights, propelled by technological innovation, and aligned with the ethos of a vigilant, dependable, and revitalized India.
The launch drew key figures from the defence ecosystem, including Maj Gen (Dr) Ashok Kumar, Director General of the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies, and Rajan Arya, publisher from Pentagon Press. As India navigates an era of geopolitical flux, Ready, Relevant and Resurgent II is poised to influence policy and training, ensuring the nation’s guardians remain steps ahead in an unpredictable world.
