CRPF Women Bikers Embark on ‘Yashasvini’ Expedition Celebrating Women Power

Srinagar, October 3, 2023 – In a stirring show of solidarity and resilience, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in partnership with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, launched the ‘Yashasvini’ Women Bike Expedition today. The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, flagged off the rally with great enthusiasm from the iconic Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

The ‘Yashasvini’ expedition comprises 150 women CRPF officers who have set out on a cross-country journey spanning a remarkable 10,000 kilometers, cutting across 15 states and 2 Union Territories. Riding a fleet of 75 Royal Enfield (350cc) motorbikes, these valiant women will traverse the diverse landscapes of India, culminating at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on October 31, 2023, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, in his address, paid tribute to the unwavering bravery and dedication exhibited by the CRPF’s Veeranganas in safeguarding the nation’s integrity and sovereignty. He hailed the ‘Yashasvini’ expedition as a symbol of the indomitable spirit of ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power) and a testament to the sacrifices, self-confidence, and remarkable achievements of women across various fields.

The ‘Yashasvini’ expedition will serve as a platform to spread the message of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) by engaging with various target groups, including schoolchildren, college girls, women self-help groups, NCC cadets, children of Child Care Institutions (CCIs), NYKS members, adolescent girls and boys, and anganwadi workers throughout their journey.

In addition to promoting the CRPF’s mission of “Desh Ke Hum Hain Rakshak” (We are the Protectors of the Nation), the women bikers will proudly display the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” logo on their uniforms and banners, championing the cause across the country.

This extraordinary initiative was witnessed by prominent dignitaries, including Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor; A.K. Choudhary, Special DG Crime; Nalin Prabhat, ADG CRPF J&K Zone; Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG CRPF; Vijay Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, and a large gathering of enthusiastic supporters.

The ‘Yashasvini’ Women Bike Expedition promises to be an inspiring journey of courage, determination, and empowerment, showcasing the unwavering spirit of Indian women and their contributions to the nation.
