CR Railway Protection Force Cracks Down on Unauthorized Hawkers, Registers Impressive Stats
In a commendable effort to curb unauthorized hawking activities, the Central Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) has recorded significant achievements between April and October 2023 under section 144 of the Indian Railway Act. A total of 21,749 cases have been registered, leading to the apprehension of 21,736 individuals and the imposition of a substantial Rs. 2.72 crore in fines.
Here is a breakdown of the statistics across different divisions:
Mumbai Division:
- Registered 8,629 cases
- Arrested 8,624 persons
- Imposed fines totaling Rs. 94.77 lakhs
Bhusawal Division:
- Registered 6,349 cases
- Arrested 6,348 persons
- Imposed fines amounting to Rs. 1.15 crores
Nagpur Division:
- Registered 2,734 cases
- Arrested 2,731 persons
- Imposed fines of Rs. 27.61 lakhs
Pune Division:
- Registered 1,856 cases
- Arrested 1,855 persons
- Imposed fines totaling Rs. 12.71 lakhs
Solapur Division:
- Registered 2,181 cases
- Arrested 2,178 persons
- Imposed fines amounting to Rs. 21.92 lakhs
