CR Progresses on Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Rail Line: A Boost for Connectivity and Socio-Economic Development
Ahmednagar, India – The Central Railway (CR) has been making remarkable strides in expanding the rail network, with a particular focus on the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Rail Line. Since April 2023, CR has successfully completed 147.77 kilometers of multitracking, encompassing new lines, doubling, and the creation of 3rd and 4th lines. To achieve these infrastructure improvements, CR allocated a budget of ₹3886.95 Crores for the current year, with an expenditure of ₹2983.47 Crores already utilized.
The Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Rail Line, spanning 261.25 kilometers in total, is a project of immense importance. As of the latest updates, a substantial 66.18 kilometers have been commissioned, leaving a remaining stretch of 195.25 kilometers. The overall physical progress of the project stands at an impressive 78%, highlighting the dedication of CR in advancing this crucial railway endeavor. Furthermore, land acquisition for the project has achieved an astonishing 99%, with 1821.56 out of 1806.19 Hectares secured.
In terms of financial investments, the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Rail Line has been allocated a budget of ₹4805.17 Crores, with ₹3699 Crores already spent on the project.
Progress on the line is as follows:
A) Completed section:
- Ahmednagar to Ashti (66.18 km)
B) Near completion (Likely commissioning this fiscal year):
- Ashti to Eganwadi (66.12 km)
C) In progress:
- Eganwadi to Parli (127.95 km)
The construction efforts have reached significant milestones, with accomplishments in various aspects:
- Earthwork: 97.40% completion, covering 419.235 kilometers out of 430.43 kilometers
- Major Bridge construction: 77% completion, with 49 out of 64 bridges already constructed
- Minor Bridge construction: 83% completion, encompassing 250 out of 301 bridges
- Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges: 65% completion, with 126 out of 195 constructed
- Ballast supply: 87% completion, supplying 6.54 out of 7.52 lakh cubic meters
- Track linking: 41% completion, with 118.38 kilometers out of 285.89 kilometers linked
- Power line crossings: 91% completion, with 568 crossings out of 626 in place
The completion of the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Rail Line is anticipated to significantly enhance connectivity between Ahmednagar and Beed districts. This development will play a pivotal role in boosting the socio-economic growth of the entire region, paving the way for a brighter future.
