Central Railway’s General Manager, Ram Karan Yadav, Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of CSMT to Thane Section

In a hands-on approach to oversee the operational efficiency and passenger experience, Ram Karan Yadav, the General Manager of Central Railway, undertook a thorough inspection of the CSMT to Thane section today, December 6, 2023, via suburban local trains. The inspection included a detailed examination of Thane and Dadar stations, where he actively engaged with passengers.

A) Footplate Inspection from CSMT to Thane:

  • Conducted footplate inspection in the motorman cab of DN CSMT-Kasara fast local.
  • Examined the cleanliness of stations and tracks en route, addressing trespassing issues.
  • Inspected various safety aspects related to tracks, OHE (Overhead Equipment), and signaling.

B) Thane Station Inspection:

  • Evaluated cleanliness and hygiene aspects of the station, including toilet blocks.
  • Checked traffic regulation arrangements at SATIS, the city bus stand, and auto stands.
  • Interacted with passengers at UTS counters, ATVM facilitators, and inspected self-ticketing zones with ATVM machines.
  • Engaged with RPF/GRP staff for crowd management arrangements.
  • Conducted an inspection of PRS (Passenger Reservation System) ticket center, interacted with tatkal ticket line passengers, and assessed online payment system arrangements and 2-way Mike system setups.
  • Inspected safety features and monitored passenger complaint monitoring aspects at the station manager’s office, including CCTV camera security arrangements.

C) Thane to Dadar Local Train Journey:

  • Traveled from Thane to Dadar in a slow local train in the second class.
  • Interacted with passengers en route, addressing their day-to-day concerns.
  • Checked announcement systems and display boards within the local train.

D) Dadar Station Inspection for Mahaparinirvan Din Arrangements:

  • Observed various security arrangements and crowd monitoring aspects at Dadar station.
  • Checked announcement systems, display boards, direction boards, and assessed crowd management at the Foot Over Bridge (FOB), circulating area, and the monitoring of RPF/GRP/other staff.

E) Dadar to CSMT Local Train Journey:

  • Traveled from Dadar to CSMT by local train.
  • Conducted a footplate inspection, inspecting safety aspects related to tracks, signaling, OHE, and bridge safety.
  • Inspected the cleanliness of the section en route.
