Central Railway Successfully Completes and Commissions 23.69 km New Line Section on Wardha-Nanded Route
Mumbai, December 23, 2023: The Central Railway (CR) has achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing and commissioning a new 23.69 km line section between Deoli and Kalamb on the Wardha-Nanded route. The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Manoj Arora, conducted a thorough inspection of the newly opened line sections and granted it a safety certificate. A successful speed trial of 125 kmph was also conducted on the freshly inaugurated line.
Chief Administrative Officer Construction, Shri. Avanish Kumar Pandey, and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Nagpur, Shri. Tushar Kant Pandey, also conducted inspections of the new line. With the opening of this 23.69 km section, CR has completed the construction of 185.49 km of new lines, double lines, and 3rd/4th lines between April and December 2023.
Wardha-Nanded New Line (via Yavatmal-Pusad) – Nagpur Division:

The completion of this new line is expected to enhance connectivity in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions, benefitting districts such as Wardha, Yavatmal, Washim, and Nanded.
Key Achievements:
- CR completed 185.50 km of new lines, doubling, 3rd/4th lines from April ’23 to date.
- ₹3887 Cr planned for new lines, doubling, 3rd/4th lines this year by CR.
- ₹3006 Cr expenditure completed till date, accounting for 77% of the planned budget.
