Central Railway Implements Safety Measures Across Divisions
In a dedicated effort to enhance safety measures, Central Railway has achieved significant milestones in various aspects from April to October 2023:
- Level Crossing Gate Closures: Central Railway successfully closed a total of 24 level crossing gates by constructing Road Over Bridges (ROB) or Road Under Bridges (RUB) in different divisions:
- Mumbai Division: 5 closures
- Bhusaval Division: 7 closures
- Nagpur Division: 6 closures
- Pune Division: 6 closures
- Smoke Detection & Suppression Systems Installation: In October 2023 alone, Central Railway installed 77 Smoke Detection & Suppression Systems in coaches, contributing to a cumulative total of 332 installations from April to October 2023.
- Block Proving Axle Counters (BPAC) System Implementation: The BPAC system has been actively ensuring that track sections are empty before permitting another train to enter. With 22 BPAC sections provided from April to October 2023, Central Railway is steadily progressing towards its goal of 100% installation.
- Safety Integrity Tests on Signal & Telecommunication Equipment: To guarantee the proper functioning of Signal & Telecommunication equipment within specified safety standards, Central Railway conducted 17 Safety Integrity Tests in October 2023:
- Mumbai Division: 4 tests
- Bhusawal Division: 3 tests
- Pune Division: 3 tests
- Solapur Division: 6 tests
- Nagpur Division: 1 test In total, 75 Safety Integrity Tests were conducted from April to October 2023 across different divisions, underscoring Central Railway’s commitment to passenger safety
