‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’ Empowers People’s Creative Ideas, Says LG Manoj Sinha

SRINAGAR, JUNE 18 – In the latest edition of the monthly program “Awaam Ki Awaaz,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised the efforts of the UT Government in fostering citizen participation and promoting nation building.

During the program, the Lt Governor highlighted the transformative power of ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz,’ stating that it has successfully turned creative ideas into realities. He emphasized that a change in mindset and a deep sense of purpose are crucial for the progress of a modern society, stressing that social upliftment, human welfare, and nation building should be the top priorities for every individual.

Acknowledging the golden period for Jammu and Kashmir, the Lt Governor called upon the entire society to unite as one mind and soul to fulfill their dreams during the Amrit Kaal.

He emphasized the need to identify and isolate elements that hinder the progress of J&K, both in rural and urban areas. By doing so, the creative forces within society can collaborate as a cohesive group to contribute towards India’s emergence as the new economic powerhouse of the world.

Additionally, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Lt Governor encouraged individuals to celebrate unity with society and the world, emphasizing the health benefits of yoga and its ability to inspire a balanced and happy life.

During the program, the Lt Governor shared inspirational success stories of women heroes and green warriors, commending their significant contributions. He highlighted the achievements of Mufara Majeed from Sopore, who built a solar-powered boat to combat climate change, and praised the Duggar Dhani Self Help Group formed by the women of Kheral village in Reasi, which has become an indicator of socio-economic growth and women empowerment in J&K.

Furthermore, the Lt Governor recognized the accomplishments of Syed Darakhsa from Budgam, who leads a women self-help artisans group, and urged the women self-help groups in Jammu and Kashmir to seize global market opportunities.

The Lt Governor also expressed his appreciation for para-archer Sheetal Devi’s achievements, which have inspired the youth and strengthened the region.

Additionally, he applauded the significant contribution of Panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir to the conservation and protection of water bodies, specifically mentioning the successful implementation of Mission Amrit Sarovar.

The Lt Governor urged all Panchayats to engage in healthy competition to build the most beautiful Amrit Sarovar, with three outstanding Panchayats to be honored on Independence Day through online voting on MyGov J&K.

Lastly, the Lt Governor congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the successful conduct of the G20 meeting and encouraged youth involvement in promoting tourism.

He also mentioned valuable suggestions received from Arifa Ara from Budgam, Javed Ahmed from Anantnag, and Abhishek Sharma from Kishtwar regarding environment-friendly products, promotion of adventure tourism, and reforms in the fisheries sector.

With the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Lt Governor called for active participation from all citizens, emphasizing its significance in promoting welfare, unity, and economic opportunities.

He urged educational institutions, organizations, prominent personalities, and stakeholders to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage its adoption as an integral part of daily life.

On this Yoga Day, let us come together to celebrate unity with society and the world, and embrace yoga for a healthy and balanced life, concluded the Lt Governor.
