Ashwini Vaishnaw Inaugurates Major Development Projects in Saharanpur

Saharanpur, June 24, 2023 – The Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, visited Saharanpur railway station today to dedicate several significant development works for the public. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Brijesh Singh, Minister of State, PWD/UP, and local MLAs Rajiv Gumbar, Devendra Nim, and other dignitaries.

The event highlighted various infrastructure projects aimed at transforming Saharanpur and its neighboring areas. Among the key announcements made by Minister Vaishnaw were:

1. Upgrading Saharanpur and Tapri Stations: To establish world-class facilities, development works worth Rs. 500 crore will be implemented, enhancing the infrastructure and passenger amenities.
2. Introduction of Vande Bharat Express: A new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Saharanpur and Prayagraj will soon be launched, providing a convenient and efficient mode of transportation.
3. Construction of Saharanpur-Dehradun Rail Line: A new rail line spanning 81 kilometers from Saharanpur to Dehradun via Shakumbhari Devi will be constructed. The survey for this project has been sanctioned with a budget of Rs. 2 crore, and the detailed project report (DPR) is expected to be completed within 18 months.
4. Stormwater cum Sewerage Pipeline and Other Infrastructure: Minister Vaishnaw inaugurated a 1340-meter-long stormwater cum sewerage pipeline, resolving long-standing water flow issues in ward No. 12. Additionally, a public park at T-2 Railway Colony and a 757-meter-long Road Over Bridge on the Meerut-Saharanpur section of DFCC (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India) were dedicated for the public, providing enhanced facilities and connectivity.

These projects aim to enhance the overall infrastructure, connectivity, and quality of life for the residents of Saharanpur. The government’s commitment to improving rail and communication networks was reiterated, with Minister Vaishnaw emphasizing the significance of these initiatives in promoting regional development and facilitating smoother travel experiences for the public.
