Amit Shah Honors Chhattisgarh Police with President’s Colour Award, Expresses Confidence in Naxal-Free State by 2026
Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the prestigious ‘President’s Colour’ to the Chhattisgarh Police in a ceremony held in Raipur today, marking the first day of his visit to the state. The award, a symbol of distinction for any armed force, was given to Chhattisgarh Police for their exceptional service and dedication within 25 years of its establishment.
Amit Shah lauded the force for its hard work, bravery, and efforts in maintaining law and order, especially in combating Naxalism and promoting a drug-free India. He highlighted the pivotal role played by Chhattisgarh Police in the fight against Naxalism, noting the significant progress made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. In the past year, security forces neutralized 287 Naxalites, arrested 1,000, and facilitated the surrender of 837 Naxalites, with a historic reduction in the death toll to below 100 for the first time in four decades.
Shah emphasized that Chhattisgarh will be Naxal-free by March 31, 2026, under the Modi government’s strong anti-Naxal policies. He also urged Naxalites to renounce violence, join the mainstream, and contribute to the state’s development.
The Home Minister also reflected on the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his death anniversary, praising his courage in unifying India. Shah noted that Prime Minister Modi had completed Sardar Patel’s unfinished work by abrogating Article 370, permanently integrating Kashmir with India.
Addressing the Chhattisgarh Police, Shah reiterated that the ‘President’s Colour’ is not just an honor but a responsibility to serve the nation with continued dedication and resilience. He expressed confidence that the state’s significant contribution to India’s development would be remembered in the journey to a prosperous, developed nation by 2047.
