Air Force Station Bamrauli’s Bicycle Expedition Honoring Heroes of Operation Vijay Concludes After 1840 Km Journey
In a heartfelt tribute to the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Vijay, a stirring bicycle expedition was successfully concluded on March 26, 2024. The initiative, which commenced on March 12, 2024, was ceremoniously flagged off by the esteemed Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Bamrauli.
Spanning an impressive distance of 1840 kilometers, the expedition charted a poignant route from Bamrauli to various significant locations including Chitrakoot, Panna, Chhatarpur, Orchha, Gwalior, Bhind, Kalpi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Mau, Varanasi, and Vindhyachal.
Beyond its commemorative purpose, the expedition also sought to champion environmental causes, notably advocating for the preservation of rivers and raising awareness against pollution and overexploitation. Under the banner of “Save Rivers: The Arteries & Veins of the Earth,” the team endeavored to spread a vital message of environmental stewardship.
Led by the indomitable Wing Commander Santosh Dubey, the expedition embodied the spirit of resilience and endurance, navigating challenging terrains and weather conditions with unwavering determination. Along the arduous journey, the team exemplified the values of adventure, physical fitness, and holistic wellbeing, resonating with communities along the route.
