Air Force Association Marks 43rd Annual Day with Special Commemorations and AGM

New Delhi, September 20, 2023: The Air Force Association (AFA) observed its 43rd Annual Day today, honoring the dedicated service and sacrifices of the nation’s Armed Forces personnel. The President of Air Force Association, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria (Retd), paid tribute to fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial on behalf of all IAF Veterans in the morning.

The commemorative events continued with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park, New Delhi, on the same day. The Chief Guest for the AGM was the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari. During his address to the veterans in attendance, CAS Chaudhari shared insights into the Indian Air Force’s accomplishments over the past year and outlined future plans for the service.

CAS Chaudhari extended his heartfelt appreciation for the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices made by the veterans, which have contributed to the IAF’s continual growth and strength. He took the opportunity to honor three exceptional air veterans who have shown unwavering commitment to the AFA’s mission. Additionally, individuals who have made significant contributions to the AFA for the betterment of the organization were also recognized and appreciated.

The AGM saw the presence of several retired Chiefs of the Air Staff and serving officers, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Established on September 15, 1980, under the patronage of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh DFC, the Air Force Association is a prominent welfare organization in the non-governmental sector. It actively engages in supporting air veterans and their families, as well as assisting widows and destitute children. The AFA boasts twenty branches across the nation, along with two branches in the United Kingdom and Australia. With nearly 92,141 Air Veteran members and 6,190 Spouse members, the organization continues to serve and uphold the welfare of its community.
