Railway Board Approves New Weekly Nanded–Tanakpur Express (17631/17632)

The Railway Board has approved the introduction of a new weekly train service 17631/17632 Nanded–Tanakpur Express, connecting Maharashtra’s Nanded with Uttarakhand’s Tanakpur. The service will operate once a week in both directions.

Train 17631 Nanded–Tanakpur (Weekly)

  • Departs Nanded: 23:40 (Sunday)

  • Major halts: Akola, Khandwa, Bina, Mathura

  • Arrives Tanakpur: 05:55 (Tuesday)

Train 17632 Tanakpur–Nanded (Weekly)

  • Departs Tanakpur: 09:00 (Tuesday)

  • Major halts: Mathura, Bina, Khandwa, Akola

  • Arrives Nanded: 16:30 (Wednesday)

Key Features

  • Commercial stoppages: Purna, Basmat, Hingoli, Washim, Akola, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Bina, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt, etc.

  • Composition: 21 LHB coaches integrated with 17610/17609 Purna–Nanded Express rake.

  • Maintenance: Primary maintenance at Nanded; cleaning at Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Jhansi and Kasganj.

  • Watering stations: Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Jhansi, Kasganj.

The new service will enhance long-distance connectivity between Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Railway Board has directed zones to ensure wide publicity and operational readiness ahead of its commencement.
