Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Two New Vande Bharat Express Trains from Gorakhpur Railway Station

Gorakhpur: In a historic moment for Indian Railways, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off two new and upgraded versions of Vande Bharat Express trains at Gorakhpur Station in Uttar Pradesh. The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, public representatives, and special guests.

These two new Vande Bharat Express trains, namely the Gorakhpur-Lucknow via Ayodhya route and the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) route, mark a new era of comfortable and enhanced rail travel experience. They will improve connectivity among state capitals and other cities, reduce travel time, and enhance the overall journey comfort. These Vande Bharat trains symbolize the progress of a New India – Viksit Bharat, reaching every corner of the nation.

The Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express, Uttar Pradesh’s second such train, will depart from Gorakhpur and reach Lucknow on the same day with stoppages at Basti and Ayodhya. This train will enhance connectivity between Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and nearby religious and tourist destinations, fostering the overall development of the region. It will also fulfill the long-standing demand for better connectivity between these religious towns.

The Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) Vande Bharat Express from Rajasthan will depart from Jodhpur Railway Station and reach Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) on the same day with stoppages at Pali Marwad, Ranakpur, and Abu Road. This train will facilitate easy and fast travel, becoming a vital link between the cultural, tourism, and pilgrimage destinations of these regions. Passengers on the Vande Bharat Express will enjoy a pleasant and superior rail travel experience.

During the event, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Gorakhpur Railway Station, which will be transformed into a world-class facility with an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 498 crore. The redevelopment aims to provide passengers with top-notch amenities.

The Vande Bharat Express trains offer an array of superior features, providing passengers with a world-class and comfortable travel experience. They incorporate advanced state-of-the-art safety features, including KAVACH technology. Each train is equipped with bogies featuring fully suspended traction motors for operational speeds of up to 160 kmph. The advanced suspension system ensures a smooth and secure journey, enhancing passenger comfort.

Furthermore, these trains contribute to Indian Railways’ environmental sustainability efforts by eliminating power cars and saving approximately 30% of electricity consumption through an advanced regenerative braking system.
