Prime Minister Modi’s Dual State Visit: Chhattisgarh and Telangana Set for Mega Developments

New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant visit to Chhattisgarh and Telangana on October 3, 2023, with a packed agenda that includes the inauguration and foundation laying of several major development projects.

Chhattisgarh Highlights:

In the morning, at approximately 11 AM, Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Jagdalpur, Bastar, Chhattisgarh, where he will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for an impressive array of development projects, amounting to a staggering sum of over Rs 26,000 crore. The centerpiece of this visit is the inauguration of NMDC Steel Ltd’s Steel Plant at Nagarnar, a greenfield project constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 23,800 crore. This state-of-the-art steel plant is poised to position Bastar on the global steel map and generate employment opportunities both within the plant and in related industries.

In line with the Prime Minister’s vision for enhancing railway infrastructure across the nation, several rail projects will be initiated during this visit. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the new rail line connecting Antagarh and Taroki and a rail line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the Boridand-Surajpur rail line doubling project and the redevelopment of Jagdalpur Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Furthermore, he will flag off the Taroki–Raipur DEMU Train Service. These rail developments aim to improve connectivity in tribal regions and boost economic growth.

As part of the visit, Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate a road upgradation project that covers the ‘Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh – Jharkhand Border section’ of National Highway-43. This project promises to enhance road connectivity, benefiting the local populace.

Telangana Highlights:

Later in the day, around 3 PM, Prime Minister Modi will head to Nizamabad, Telangana, where he will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for a range of development projects collectively valued at approximately Rs 8,000 crore. These projects span vital sectors such as power, rail, and health.

In a significant step towards augmenting power generation and energy efficiency, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the first 800 MW Unit of phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC. This project is poised to provide low-cost power to Telangana while contributing to the state’s economic development. It will also stand as an environmentally compliant power station.

Telangana’s rail infrastructure will receive a boost with the inauguration of rail projects, including the new Railway Line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet and electrification projects between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool. These projects are expected to drive socio-economic development in the region, offering improved connectivity and sustainable rail transport.

In a move aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Telangana, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. These CCBs will be strategically located across various districts, significantly enhancing critical care capabilities and benefiting the people of Telangana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit promises to mark a momentous occasion for both Chhattisgarh and Telangana, ushering in a new era of development and progress in these states.
