Prime Minister Modi Expands Delhi’s Metro Network with Dwarka Sector 21 to ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ Line Extension
Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in Delhi’s transportation infrastructure today as he inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to the brand-new metro station, ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25,’ situated in the heart of Yashobhoomi.
Key Highlights of the Inauguration:
- The new ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ Metro Station is not just an expansion but a leap in connectivity for the city. This station will boast three subways, including a 735-meter long subway providing easy access to the Exhibition halls, Convention center, and Central Arena. Another subway will facilitate smooth entry and exit across Dwarka Expressway, while the third will connect the Metro station to the future Exhibition halls of ‘Yashobhoomi.’
- With a commitment to enhancing travel efficiency, the Delhi Metro will raise the operational speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 to 120 km/hr. This upgrade will significantly reduce travel time, with the journey from ‘New Delhi’ to ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ now taking approximately 21 minutes.
- Emphasizing the convenience of this expansion, Prime Minister Modi himself arrived at the ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ Metro Station via the metro, commencing his journey from Dhaula Kuan Metro Station.
- The Prime Minister’s Office shared the joyous occasion on social media, stating, “All smiles on the Delhi Metro! PM Narendra Modi interacted with people from various walks of life during his journey to Dwarka, to inaugurate Phase-1 of Yashobhoomi convention center.”
