Mumbai Division’s Kalyan-Kasara 3rd Line Project Progresses at Steady Pace
- In a significant development for the Mumbai division’s railway infrastructure, the Kalyan-Kasara 3rd Line project is making substantial headway. This pivotal project, spanning a length of 67.35 kilometers with a budget of 792.89 crores, holds the promise of enhancing rail connectivity in the region.
Key Project Updates:
A) Land Acquisition Progress:
- The project necessitates the acquisition of a total of 49.23 hectares of land.
- Impressively, 73% of land acquisition has been successfully completed, accounting for 35.96 hectares.
- The remaining land acquisition stands at 27%, comprising 13.27 hectares.
B) Accomplished Works:
- Earthwork, a critical aspect of the project, has seen substantial progress, with 6.69 lakh cubic meters completed out of the total requirement of 17.43 lakh cubic meters.
- Of the 205 minor bridges planned for the project, 23 have already been completed.
- Foundation work for Overhead Equipment (OHE) has reached significant milestones, with 200 foundations out of 1400 successfully established.
- In tandem with OHE foundation work, the erection of OHE masts has also made notable progress, with 170 out of 1200 masts completed.
- The vital task of shifting signaling cables from Kalyan to Asangaon has been successfully executed, contributing to the project’s overall advancement.
C) Ongoing Works:
- While a substantial portion of the project has been completed, several crucial aspects remain in progress.
- Currently, work is underway on 5 major bridges out of the total of 9 planned for the project.
