Hadapsar Station to Transform into Pune’s Satellite Terminal with a 135 Crores Development Project

Pune’s railway infrastructure is set for a major upgrade with the ambitious development of Hadapsar Station into a satellite terminal. With an estimated investment of Rs. 135 crores, this project has reached a notable 30% completion milestone, marking a significant step towards enhancing rail services in the region.

Project Scope and Highlights:

A) Scope of Work:

1. The project entails the extension of both UP and DOWN platforms, stretching them by an impressive 600 meters.
2. The existing UP Goods line will be converted into a UP and DOWN Common passenger coaching line to streamline train operations.
3. An additional goods line will be constructed on the UP side to facilitate efficient freight transportation.
4. A brand new station building will be constructed, offering modern amenities to passengers.
5. Provisions will be made for a circulating area and parking facilities.
6. Adequate arrangements for water supply tanks will be put in place.

B) Completed Works:

1. The extension of Platform numbers 1, 2, and 3 to accommodate trains of up to 24 coach lengths has been successfully completed.

C) In Progress Works:

1. Passenger amenities, including a General waiting hall, Executive lounge, Booking office with 5 counters, Enquiry counters, and a public announcement system, are currently under construction.
2. An 800-meter-long cover shed is being erected over the platforms for the comfort of passengers.
3. Watering arrangements are in progress to cater to the needs of trains and travelers.
4. Three retiring rooms will be made available for passengers, along with facilities like a TTE office and rest room, Luggage office, Clock room, and Parcel office.
5. Essential offices for security personnel, such as the RPF office and GRP office, are also part of the plan.
6. Reservation counters, an Electric substation building, Coolie room, Circulating area, parking facilities, road widening, and dismantling of existing quarters and the old station building are currently in progress.

Upon the completion of this ambitious project, Hadapsar Station will serve as a modern satellite terminal of Pune, greatly enhancing passenger amenities and services.
