Government of India’s Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, Announces Completion of Key Infrastructure Project in Jammu & Kashmir

Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, took to social media to share a significant achievement in the region. The successful completion of a critical infrastructure project was announced, showcasing the government’s commitment to improving connectivity and enhancing travel in the area.

In his social media post, Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed:

“In Jammu & Kashmir, we have successfully completed the construction of a 250-meter viaduct (2-lane) in conjunction with a 395-meter (2-lane) Martog Tunnel, at an estimated cost of ₹82 Crores.”

This vital infrastructure segment, located along the Ramban to Banihal section of NH-44, not only reduces travel distance by 200 meters, alleviating steep gradients but also provides an alternative route bypassing the challenging Marog area. Furthermore, it facilitates the smooth flow of vehicular traffic, benefiting the local populace and promoting economic growth in the region.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government is committed to delivering exceptional highway infrastructure to Jammu & Kashmir. This transformative development not only contributes to the region’s economic growth but also enhances connectivity, ultimately improving the lives of the local residents while aligning with the government’s broader economic and infrastructure goals.
