Containerized Cement Movement Begins: CONCOR Launches Specialized Tank Containers for Bulk Transport

In a major breakthrough for India’s cement logistics, CONCOR has introduced specialized tank containers to transport bulk cement in loose form—marking a new chapter in efficient, eco-friendly freight movement.

The first successful real-time movement of these containers has commenced from My Home Cement Siding (MMHM) in Mellacheruvu, Andhra Pradesh, to CONCOR ICD Whitefield, Bangalore. This initiative is part of Indian Railways’ ongoing push to provide innovative and sustainable logistics solutions for critical industries.

Unlike traditional bagged transport, these tank containers enable safe, efficient, and green bulk cement movement, reducing handling costs and environmental impact. The development supports the government’s vision of promoting multimodal and environmentally responsible logistics.

Leveraging its vast infrastructure, CONCOR aims to continue delivering cost-effective, technologically advanced solutions to bolster India’s industrial and logistics growth.
