CDAC and ICAT Join Hands to Develop Indigenous Automotive Technologies for Future Mobility

In a major step toward self-reliant and technology-driven mobility, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop indigenous automotive solutions. The collaboration aims to strengthen India’s automotive ecosystem through R&D, testing, and certification of home-grown technologies, reducing dependence on foreign systems and supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The MoU was signed during the Traffic InfraTech Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials including Ms. Sunita Verma, Group Coordinator (R&D in Electronics & IT), MeitY; Dr. Saurabh Dalela, Director, ICAT; and Dr. P. R. Lakshmi Eswari, Centre Head, C-DAC Hyderabad.

The partnership will focus on developing indigenous technologies, creating testing standards, advancing automotive cybersecurity, and exploring emerging business opportunities in the mobility sector. While ICAT will define technological requirements and provide validation and certification facilities, C-DAC will lead the design and development of innovative solutions tailored to industry needs.

This collaboration marks a pivotal move toward building a Swadeshi technological base for India’s future mobility — reinforcing the nation’s commitment to Make in India and a self-reliant, sustainable automotive future.
