Ajni Station Transforms into Satellite Terminal with New Platforms and Looplines
In a significant stride toward enhancing rail infrastructure, Ajni Station is undergoing extensive development as a satellite terminal. The project, amounting to 45.33 Crores, has made notable progress, with an overall physical completion of 30%.
Scope of Work:
- Construction of 2 new platforms
- Construction of 2 new looplines
- Creation of 4 stabling lines with secondary coach maintenance facility
- Establishment of 1 new Pit line for train examination
- Construction of service buildings for mechanical works
- Construction of a 500-meter Cover over shed on platforms
- Development of coach water facility
- Installation of 2 new Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) connecting the proposed platforms
Completed Works:
- Awarded contracts for all civil works, new platforms, covershed on platforms, washing pit lines, stabling lines, coach watering pathway, and service buildings
- Completion of all service buildings, including mechanical work
- Construction of a 585-meter washing pit line, with track linking in progress
- Completion of track linking for 4 stabling lines
- Awarded tenders for Overhead Equipment (OHE) & Electrical works
- Ongoing work on Signalling & telecom infringement obstruction removal
The successful implementation of these projects, including new platforms, is anticipated to enhance train mobility in the Nagpur area and alleviate congestion.
