Prime Minister to inaugurate PM MITRA Park, railway projects, highways, industrial corridor and Sindhu Hospital during Karnataka and Hyderabad visit on May 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka and Telangana on May 10, where he is set to launch and dedicate a series of major infrastructure, industrial, railway and healthcare projects worth around ₹9,400 crore. The visit will include programmes in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with the Prime Minister also participating in the 45th anniversary celebrations of The Art of Living.

According to the official schedule, the Prime Minister will first arrive in Bengaluru at around 11 AM to attend the celebrations marking 45 years of The Art of Living and the 70th birthday celebrations of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Founded in 1981, the organisation has grown into a global volunteer-driven humanitarian and educational movement operating in 182 countries.

During the event, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the newly built Dhyan Mandir at the Art of Living International Centre. The meditation hall has been envisioned as a dedicated space for spiritual wellness, meditation and holistic well-being. He will also launch several nationwide service initiatives focusing on mental health, rural development, environmental conservation and social transformation.

After the Bengaluru programme, the Prime Minister will travel to Hyderabad, where he is scheduled to attend a public function at around 3 PM. During the event, he will lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate multiple projects aimed at strengthening connectivity, logistics, industrial growth and passenger convenience across Telangana.

One of the major projects to be launched is the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar under the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor. The highway project, being developed at a cost of over ₹3,175 crore, is expected to significantly improve road connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka. Officials said the upgraded highway will reduce travel time by nearly one-and-a-half hours while also lowering fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance costs. The project is expected to facilitate smoother traffic movement and boost industrial activity in the region.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district, being developed under the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. Spread across 3,245 acres and being developed at an estimated cost of more than ₹2,350 crore, the industrial area is strategically located along NH-65 and will provide seamless multimodal connectivity to ports, rail routes, airports and major urban centres.

The Zaheerabad Industrial Area has been envisioned as a smart and integrated industrial township equipped with advanced and sustainable infrastructure. Key sectors identified for investment include automobile manufacturing, machinery, food processing, electrical equipment and metal industries. Officials expect the project to attract investments worth nearly ₹10,000 crore while generating large-scale employment opportunities for the region.

Another key highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Developed under the PM MITRA scheme at an estimated cost of around ₹1,700 crore, it is India’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park. The project aims to strengthen India’s textile sector through the Government’s “5F” vision — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.

Located near the proposed Nagpur–Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway and close to NH-163, the textile park has been designed with strong multimodal connectivity to rail networks and ports to support domestic and international trade. The park includes modern infrastructure such as an extensive internal road network, dedicated power facilities and assured water supply. It also incorporates environmentally sustainable systems, including a Common Effluent Treatment Plant with Zero Liquid Discharge technology.

In the railway sector, the Prime Minister will dedicate projects worth around ₹1,535 crore to the nation. These include several completed sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada multi-tracking project covering about 118 kilometres. The project is expected to increase line capacity on the busy Grand Trunk route, enabling faster train operations, reducing congestion and improving punctuality while boosting freight movement.

The Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass will also be dedicated during the visit. Railway officials said the project will decongest Kazipet Junction by allowing simultaneous train movement towards Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada, thereby improving operational efficiency and reducing delays for both passenger and freight trains.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate Indian Oil’s Greenfield Terminal at Malkapur in Hyderabad to the nation. Developed at a cost of over ₹600 crore, the terminal has been built to enhance petroleum product handling capacity and meet rising energy demand in the region. The facility has a total storage capacity of 1,65,000 kilolitres and is expected to strengthen fuel supply logistics across Telangana and neighbouring states.

In the healthcare sector, the Prime Minister will dedicate Sindhu Hospital, a state-of-the-art cancer-focused multi-super speciality quaternary care hospital in Hyderabad. Spread across 2.1 million square feet with 18 floors, the not-for-profit hospital has a capacity of 1,500 beds, over 150 consultation rooms and 29 advanced operation theatres.

The hospital will provide specialised services including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, cancer surgeries, bone marrow transplants and critical care facilities. It will also offer treatment across more than 33 super-speciality departments supported by advanced diagnostic laboratories and blood centre facilities.

Officials said the projects being launched during the visit reflect the government’s focus on integrated infrastructure development, industrial expansion, improved healthcare and enhanced connectivity under the vision of “Viksit Telangana for Viksit Bharat”. The initiatives are expected to generate employment, improve quality of life and strengthen Telangana’s role as a major economic and industrial hub in the country.
