NHPC Joins Forces with RITES, Ministry of Railways to Pioneer Rail Infrastructure for Dibang Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh
Faridabad, August 21, 2023 – In a groundbreaking move to fortify India’s hydropower potential, NHPC Limited, the nation’s premier hydropower company, has entered into a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RITES, a distinguished Miniratna Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Undertaking operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Railways. The focal aim of this collaborative effort is the construction of a vital railway siding in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, aligning with NHPC’s ambitious 2,880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project.
Aptly leveraging the combined strengths of NHPC and RITES, this strategic partnership seeks to pool the profound expertise held by both entities. Employing its profound experience as a Project Management Consultant, RITES is poised to provide all-encompassing and efficient solutions for the establishment of essential rail infrastructure assets for NHPC’s Dibang undertaking, as well as other impending ventures set to grace the landscape of Arunachal Pradesh.
This pivotal MoU materialized on August 21, 2023, within the precincts of NHPC’s Corporate Office, Faridabad. The ceremonial signing of the agreement took place in the presence of key dignitaries, including Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) NHPC; the Executive Director (Dibang), NHPC; and the concerned Executive Director stationed at NHPC’s Corporate Office. The pact was inked by the General Manager (Civil) of the Dibang project and the Executive Director of RITES.
